I don't recognize the 4th character, but it's "Japanese (something) car"
Edit: Eh, fuck it, close enough

Fluent in Japanese and reporting! I don't have time right now to look into it much but it's - "Japan's Great Cars" (translation may be a little rough)

The issue you posted is the Jan 4th 2014 issue.

As best as I can make it:

Okay, thanks. It's been about 5 years since I've taken Japanese, and I've had a bit of Chinese since then so I'm more than a little rusty with my kanji :p

LOL, NP. I started to learn Cantonese, could carry a convo and then stopped.
I thought about learning to read and write it, but realized it would screw up my Japanese reading like French screwed up my English vowels... So I stopped!
How far did you get with Chinese?

If you have an android (and you should), download the official "Google Translate" app. You scan the text with your camera and it'll translate in real-time. Trippy.

I got further in one year of Mandarin than I did in two of Japanese :p I would've been able to get by as a tourist in China just fine, but I wasn't quite conversational. For whatever reason, I never could get the hang of Japanese all that well.

Thanks man! One thing, in that link you posted, does the "298" in the yellow part of the banner refer to the pages? I'm doubtful somehow.

I was learning Hong Kong Cantonese, slightly different than the main dialect. It wasn't hard converse in, but pronunciation... They have tones like Thai basically and words sound exactly like other words to me. Famous example: Say essentially hai and it means yes, use another tone hAI and it means vagina.
But as far as negatives and basics go, peasy!
Japanese I never had much issue with either, five sounds more or less. What I do have trouble with more than anything else are counters though. Part of me wants to use them for everything, another part wants to never use them. Why cant it just be instead of .
Languages I don't enjoy learning:
Korean, Thai, Russian!

Yeah, tones are a universal part of Chinese. The mandarin word for yellow was a tone away from being the word for porn :p
For wherever reason, Japanese vocabulary just never stuck with me. I could read it fine (as long as it was hiragana or katakana) and know what was a noun, adjective, whatever, but past that I'd have nothing.

LOL, Hiragana I learned in one night, Katakana I still fumble with because it all looks like Kanji or Hiragana to me. as the katakana vs Power for example is an issue.
Kanji - it takes work but it isn't too bad.
I thought about trying Mandarin but between the Cantonese, the Japanese and the lack of Mandarin speaking people around me anymore... Just haven't committed. I really just want to pick one and become 100% fluent for something.

No problem! That's the price (anything in Japanese with a is price. I don't see a page count for the issue but it covers a few generations of Skylines, 200GT, Sport800, R360 Coupé and Sansa EX.
